Having good educational qualifications does not make you qualified for a job especially in the technology sector where the basic job requirements are mainly skills. It's no longer news that top businesses and companies like Google are already seeking employees outside the educational field. So if you don't have that college degree or university degree then braze up, in as much as you've got your skills that job is yours.

Yeah, do you have that passion to learn more about techs? I mean you are not applying for the post of an IT support technician because it is one of the high-paying jobs or because it is just one of the new trending jobs, are you? Communication skills.

I don't think I will need this skill, only the marketing staffs need it. If you don't know, now you had better be informed, this is one of the prerequisite skills you will need to qualify as a good technician. This skill will be needed the most when communicating with a customer who seems to have problems with his/her tech gadget. You are to do a proper analysis and explanation of the problem with the gadget and how you can help proffer a solution in non-technical words to make understanding easier on the part of the client. If you don't have this skill, don't be surprised if customers begin to avoid your desk.

Time management skills.

You will be surely missing deadlines if you don't know how to properly manage your time in resolving a tech issue. I am sure you know well that that could be costing your employing company lot of customers. So when you are assigned a task, know when to call for help or assistance when you seem stuck with it instead of sitting with it the whole day and trying to figure out a solution.


Adaptiveness and Good team spirit.

As a technician, you must be able to easily learn and adapt to every new trending technology with ease. This is also very vital. This means you always have to keep up to date of every new trending technology.  You also have to possess a good team spirit, this will be helpful in getting tasks done faster.

Right talent and attitudes.

This doesn't need too much emphasis. An individual with an inborn talent in technology, creativity and innovation will readily do better in the job than one who doesn't have the right talent and attitude for the job. So before chasing a job deem it necessary to first look within your self and discover if you have the talent or not.
